  • On reading about Reg Bramley I wonder if its the same Reg Bramley I knew who used to drink in my mum and dad’s pub on Belvedere Street. That was Midland Arms. Jack Morritt was the landlord.

  • My Dad Reg Bramley who was brought up on Duke Street often told me the story of how he led one of the elephants that had arrived at Mansfield Station when he was a young lad. Also I think there was a theatre at the junction of Belvedere/Victoria St and he used to sit in the audience sometimes and be the stooge for one of the acts and also at times he used to operate the stage lighting.Good Memories.

  • This is wonderful to see and listen to, also to note some of the buildings in the back ground such as the gasometor. It is difficult to imagine a line of elephants going through Mansfield, no wonder these two exciting events have stayed in these peoples memories.
