The Rainworth Windmills

Wherever you drive or walk around the Mansfield area today the Rainworth Wind Mills can be seen They dominate the sky line for miles around. Love them or loath them they are now part of our energy system for providing electricity.

  • I see these on a pretty regular basis, and have seen many other both offshore and on, in various parts of the country. To be honest I like them! Too many in an area like the Yorkshire Dales or the Derbyshire Peak would be a pollution it is true, but offshore,and wisely placed onshore, I think it is great. We all want light when we switch on don,t we? These things do have a post modernist aspect to them too I feel but maybe it’s just me.
