Watching the football celebrations on television last Sunday (26th Feb 2011) when Liverpool won the Carling Cup brought to mind this photo of a celebration in Forest Town Miners Welfare back in 1959 when Nottingham Forest won the FA Cup.
I believe the FA Cup (that year anyway) was taken round various venues and ‘shown off’ – maybe someone has more knowledge of this than I do and can add a comment to this page.
Nottingham Forests opponents in the 1959 final were Luton Town, I believe the score was Notts. 2 – Luton 1. Notts played the last hour with only ten men. www.nottinghamforest.co.uk will tell you more.
