By Jodie Henshaw

The Old Mansfield Society have found this photograph in their archive and need your help to try identify where it is?

The OMS have found this second photograph in their archive. they think that the wall on the left is the same bit of wall as on the right of photograph one. What do you think?

I believe it's Sutton Road, I think the building on the extreme left William 4th public house, it looks familiar from thr 1950s when I was a kid.

It's the top end of Stockwell Gate as viewed between Spencer Street and Herbert Street.  The photo was taken in 1962 by Bill Purdy a member of the OMS at that time.

I believe the lower photo is showing the King and Miller pub on Stockwell gate.

It is Sutton Road. facing the high stone wall surrounding the old Work House. A little higher than the Shoe Co.
