This photograph first appeared in the Forest Town Crier Community newspaper in September 2005 sent in by Glenis Denly nee Rawlins. All the ‘Bathing Belles’ lived in The Avenues, Forest Town. The photo was taken when they were on holiday in Skegness in 1922.
Glenis recalled “my mother Nellie Rawlins nee Johnson is 3rd from the left and the poser in the ground is my Godmother, Ada Johnson nee Harrison.”
The names of the other ladies were unknown and even today they are still a mystery – does anyone by chance know them?
